SUMMARY:Mathieu VS. Falcao
DESCRIPTION:Quebec City’s pride\, Wilkens Mathieu\, will return home for the first main event of his career on June 11 at the Théâtre Capitole. It is — by far — the biggest test of his career that awaits him for the occasion\, as Brazilian Esquiva Falcao\, an Olympic silver medalist and former world title challenger\, will come to the Capitale-Nationale looking to take the NABF title from the 21-year-old Quebecer. \n“Many have said that I was too young to face Phinn\, and they will probably say the same thing about Falcao\, but people need to understand that I don’t have time to waste. I already believe I am the best in the world\, so I have to face the best in the world\, and it starts by beating an Olympic medalist — in front of my city — on June 11\,” predicted the youngest top-15 contender in the WBC super middleweight division\, Wilkens Mathieu. \n“Against Shakeel Phinn\, Quebec discovered all of Wilkens’ talent. Against a guy like Esquiva Falcao\, it’s the whole world that will soon discover him\,” added the trainer of the Eye of the Tiger protégé\, Giuseppe Moffa. \nTaking the fast track\, Wilkens Mathieu (15-0\, 10 KOs) made a statement last October when he dominated and dropped Quebec contender Shakeel Phinn on his way to a unanimous decision victory in Montreal. A few months before his 21st birthday\, he captured the NABF super middleweight title\, in addition to entering the world rankings\, where he currently sits at No. 14 with the WBC and No. 15 with the WBA at super middleweight (168 lb). \nHis next opponent\, Esquiva Falcao (32-2\, 21 KOs)\, will not be impressed by the rising star’s record. Wilkens Mathieu was only 7 years old when the Brazilian won the silver medal at the London Olympic Games. \nFalcao then began his rise in the professional ranks\, as Top Rank placed him on its most prestigious cards\, on the undercard of Manny Pacquiao\, on HBO\, and later ESPN. Winning his first 30 fights\, he notably became the first to defeat Quebec contender Patrice Volny\, whom he beat in 6 rounds in 2021. In 2023\, he fought for a world championship against the undefeated Vincenzo Gualtieri\, but lost by decision — in Germany. His only other loss came in another competitive decision in 2024\, this time against Tokyo Olympic champion Hebert Conceição. Since relaunching his career at super middleweight\, the 36-year-old has won his last two fights\, capturing the Brazilian championship in the process last November. \n“I respect my opponent\, I know he is a good fighter\, an undefeated guy. But he has not yet faced a boxer like me: an experienced fighter\, who hits hard\, with a real desire to win. Personally\, I have already fought for the world title and I intend to do it again\, so God will be with me on June 11 — and the victory will go to Brazil\,” promised Olympic medalist Esquiva Falcao. \nBut the Capitale-Nationale will have a double main event on June 11! \nTo precede the #MathieuFalcao showdown\, Témiscouata’s pride\, Leïla Beaudoin\, will cross paths with Colombian contender Paulina Angel in an interim WBA super featherweight world championship bout. \n“I feel grateful for so many reasons. Returning to a world championship so quickly is already incredible\, but being able to do it — for the first time — at home\, in front of my people\, is something else. I know many people will be behind me to support me\, and I plan to thank them by winning my first world title on April 11\,” said the athlete from Bas-Saint-Laurent\, Leïla Beaudoin. \nAs “incredible” as a world title opportunity may be\, Leïla Beaudoin (14-2\, 2 KOs) has certainly done everything to earn it. Last December in Miami\, the Quebecer became the first woman in her nation’s history to fight in a unified world championship contested over 12 three-minute rounds. Despite a decision loss to American Alycia Baumgardner\, Beaudoin delivered a convincing performance\, winning several championship rounds in front of nearly 15 million viewers on Netflix. \nDetermined to come back stronger than ever\, the native of Rivière-du-Loup returned to the ring less than four months later\, on April 9. Facing an opponent who had already been crowned world champion three times\, in Victoria Bustos\, Leïla Beaudoin dominated each of the 10 rounds. Still ranked in the top 5 of the WBA\, WBC\, WBO and IBF world rankings\, the 30-year-old Quebecer was immediately given another opportunity to return to a world championship bout against Paulina Angel. \n“This fight is the result of all the work Leïla has put in over the years. She deserves this opportunity. She has worked with discipline and intelligence to reach this level. We know Angel is a solid opponent\, but we are fully confident of leaving the Capitole with the victory on June 11\,” assured the trainer of the EOTTM protégé\, Samuel Décarie-Drolet. \nSeizing her second chance at a world title will also be the objective of Paulina Angel (7-2-2\, 3 KOs) when she arrives in Quebec City next spring. A 24-year-old athlete from Medellín\, Colombia\, Angel made a strong entry into the professional ranks in October 2020\, scoring three knockouts in as many fights. Fighting in her native Colombia\, as well as in Mexico and Panama\, she eventually became the WBA Latin American super featherweight champion (130 lb). Last August\, she lost by unanimous decision in a world title fight at 135 lb against American Stephanie Han. However\, Angel left a strong impression in Orlando\, dropping the champion in the very first round. Back in the division where she remains undefeated\, the WBA’s No. 7 contender fully intends to surprise Beaudoin. \nAlso on the card on June 11: WBC Continental super middleweight champion Moreno Fendero (14-0\, 10 KOs) will make his first title defense against Puerto Rican puncher Jonathan Gonzalez (21-1-1\, 17 KOs). The pride of Thetford Mines\, Thomas Chabot (12-1\, 8 KOs)\, light heavyweight double continental champion Mehmet Unal (15-0\, 13 KOs)\, EOTTM prospect Erik Israyelyan (5-0\, 3 KOs) and popular Trois-Rivières boxer Daylen Pepin (2-0) will also be in action against opponents to be announced soon.

SUMMARY:Perez VS. Mchunu
DESCRIPTION:WBA Continental cruiserweight champion Lenar Perez will face the toughest test of his career on September 3 when he takes on two-time world title challenger Thabiso “The Rock” Mchunu in the main event of an Eye of the Tiger card at the Casino de Montréal. \n“When I signed with EOTTM\, I knew the challenges would be there. Thabiso Mchunu has a wealth of experience against the very best in the world. This is exactly the kind of fight that will allow me to prove that I belong among the elite of the division myself\,” said four-time Cuban national amateur champion Lenar Perez. \n“We believe Lenar Perez is the best cruiserweight in the world\, and while we wait for the opportunity to prove it against Jai Opetaia or David Benavidez\, we intend to send a clear message to them and the entire division through Mchunu on September 3\,” added EOTTM President Camille Estephan. \nBoasting one of the most decorated amateur careers in boxing\, Lenar Perez (16-0\, 14 KOs) wasted no time making an impact in the professional ranks. After winning his first 14 bouts by stoppage\, the fighter nicknamed “The Cuban Prince” traveled to Russia and defeated former world title challenger Aleksei Egorov on hostile territory. He then signed a long-term agreement with EOTTM and made his North American debut last March\, completely shutting out former world title challenger Isaac Chilemba. Currently ranked No. 3 by the WBA\, No. 9 by the IBF\, No. 11 by the WBO\, and No. 18 by the WBC\, Perez is looking to secure the biggest opportunities of his career by winning his first main event on Quebec soil. \nSouth African boxer Thabiso Mchunu (25-8\, 14 KOs)\, however\, is no stranger to the world level—or to those seeking to reach it. In 2013\, in Connecticut\, Mchunu spoiled American heavyweight Eddie Chambers‘ cruiserweight debut. In 2014\, in Atlantic City\, he captured the NABF title from Nigerian puncher Olanrewaju Durodola. In 2016\, live on HBO\, he received his first world title opportunity against none other than Oleksandr Usyk\, engaging in a hard-fought nine-round battle. Then\, after defeating former world champions Thomas Oosthuizen (2018) and Denis Lebedev (2019)\, he returned to the world title stage in 2022\, falling by split decision to Junior Makabu in a fight many observers believed he had won. Having resumed his quest for a third world title shot\, “The Rock” will be seeking a third consecutive victory when he faces Perez. \nWhile the main event carries an international flavor\, the co-feature will add a local touch to the evening\, as Montreal fighters Moreno Fendero (15-0\, 11 KOs) and Stephane Fondjo (15-2-1\, 10 KOs) square off for the WBC Continental Americas super middleweight title. \n“I have a lot of respect for Stephane\, but once we’re in the ring\, there will be no more respect. We’ve sparred together before. We know each other well\, so we’re going to give everyone a great fight\, but I’ll just say that the Soldier has a nice surprise in store for him\,” commented defending champion Moreno “The Soldier” Fendero\, currently ranked No. 25 in the WBC world rankings. \n“Whenever we can make local fights like this happen\, we do it. It’s an important step in a boxer’s career. It adds a psychological dimension that Moreno will have to navigate for the first time\,” noted EOTTM Head Trainer and Director of Development Marc Ramsay. \n“Unlike many boxers\, Stephane isn’t interested in padding his record—he wants to fight the best. After 18 professional fights\, I believe he’s ready to beat the best. I like Moreno\, but I have no doubt that Stephane will hand him his first defeat\,” stated trainer Ian MacKillop\, whose fighter engaged in a fierce battle with Steven Butler despite a shortened training camp in November 2025. \nAlso scheduled to compete on September 3 are two-time Prospect of the Year nominee Jhon Orobio (18-0\, 16 KOs)\, Canada’s most recent Olympic medalist Wyatt Sanford (7-0\, 3 KOs)\, Eye of the Tiger’s Montreal-based prospect Keven Beausejour (3-0\, 3 KOs)\, Boisbriand prospect Victor Tremblay (3-0\, 3 KO) and former 3-time national amateur champion Nickenson Denis (1-0\, 1 KO).

SUMMARY:Iglesias VS. Zaren
DESCRIPTION:The Théâtre Capitole of Quebec City will be the site of a historic night on October 8\, as EOTTM presents a card featuring a record nine titles on the line\, including three world championships. Osleys Iglesias will defend his unified IBF and IBO titles against undefeated Oliver Zaren\, while Wilkens Mathieu will face Vladimir Shishkin in a bid to retain his NABF title. \n“Historic is a term that is often overused in sports\, but this time\, the numbers speak for themselves: nine titles on the line at a single card in Quebec is simply unprecedented. It is all the more exciting for us to present an event of this magnitude at the Capitole\, one of the most beautiful venues in North America\, where every seat gives our fans the opportunity to be at the heart of the action\,” said Eye of the Tiger President Camille Estephan. \nIn the main event\, one of the most feared champions in boxing\, Osleys ‘El Tornado’ Iglesias (15-0\, 14 KO)\, will make the first defense of his IBF world title\, as well as the fifth defense of his IBO super-middleweight title. Last April\, the Cuban-born fighter captured the vacant IBF title by handing Russia’s Pavel Silyagin his first defeat\, forcing him to retire after eight rounds. Prior to that\, Iglesias earned his world title opportunity by stopping another Russian contender\, Vladimir Shishkin\, also in the eighth round. Those two stoppage victories are a reflection of his career as a whole: with an impressive 93% KO ratio\, Iglesias leads all current world champions\, across all weight classes\, in that category. \nUndefeated contender Oliver ‘The Great Dane’ Zaren (19-0-1\, 8 KO)\, however\, has no fear of stepping into the eye of the storm as he looks to write his own page in history. A former super-middleweight Intercontinental champion and current IBF #5 world contender\, the Dane has fought across Europe\, including for the European title. He is now trained by none other than legendary Mikkel Kessler\, considered by many to be the greatest Danish boxer of all time. Zaren will therefore arrive in Québec with the ambition of becoming the first Dane since his mentor to bring a world title back home. \n“This fight is a dream come true for me\, a dream I have cherished since childhood\, and one that will ultimately come true with my victory. Osleys Iglesias is strong\, tall\, powerful\, and I know he scares even the world’s elite… but not me\, because I know my level. On October 8\, I will not come in Quebec City as a visitor. I will come as a conqueror\,” said Scandinavian warrior Oliver Zaren. \nIn the co-main event\, the youngest contender in the world’s top 15 at super-middleweight\, Wilkens Mathieu (16-0\, 11 KO)\, will look to continue his rapid rise as he defends his North American (NABF) title against former world title challenger Vladimir Shishkin (17-2\, 11 KO). Last June\, the Québec fighter became the first to stop Olympic medalist Esquiva Falcao\, in the first main event of the first gala held at the Capitole de Québec. That victory\, following his October win over Shakeel Phinn\, propelled the Québec native into the rankings of all four major sanctioning bodies in his division\, including #8 WBC\, #14 WBA\, and #15 WBO and IBF. However\, the 21-year-old athlete is not aiming for the top 15\, top 10\, or even top 5. He has his sights set on the summit\, and he intends to get there sooner rather than later. \n“After beating Vladimir Shishkin\, William Scull and Osleys Iglesias both went on to fight for world titles. So I sincerely hope the same thing happens for me\, because I already feel ready to beat anyone in the world at 168 pounds\,” said the ever-confident Wilkens Mathieu. \nLike Mathieu\, Québec headliner Leïla Beaudoin (15-2\, 2 KO) will also return to the Capitole de Québec for her second consecutive fight at the venue. After winning the WBA interim world championship at super-featherweight by dominating Colombia’s Paulina Angel last June\, the Bas-Saint-Laurent native\, who became the third Québec woman in history to win a world title\, will make her first defense against a contender to be announced shortly. \n“My training camp has just begun\, but I already feel ready to face anyone. Winning a world title is one thing and defending it is another\, but once again\, I’ll have the crowd behind me and I don’t intend to disappoint my fans on October 8\,” said Témiscouata’s pride and joy\, Leïla Beaudoin. \nIn what will be the first fight between two EOTTM fighters in more than five years\, two-time Olympian and two-time (WBC and IBF) continental lightweight champion\, Dzmitry Asanau (13-0\, 7 KO)\, will face Montreal’s NABF champion\, Luis Santana (16-0\, 7 KO)\, in another clash between undefeated fighters. \n“We’re talking about a ‘Tiger vs. Tiger’ fight\, but in the jungle\, only one can be king. And the crown isn’t given\, it’s taken\,” said Luis Santana\, who was victorious in a local showdown in his most recent outing against Montreal’s Chann Thonson. \n“Our motto is simple: we refuse no one. I have a lot of respect for Luis Santana and his team. He is a man and a boxer I appreciate\, but this time\, our paths cross. One zero will have to disappear from someone’s record\, and I intend to make sure it isn’t Dzmitry’s\,” said the trainer of the Belarusian-born fighter\, Samuel Décarie-Drolet\, whose protégé is ranked #3 by the WBC and #4 by the IBF. \nThe card will also feature the return of Marc Ramsay protégé\, Olympic medalist and top-five world contender Imam Khataev (12-1\, 11 KO)\, who will defend his NABF light heavyweight title against Irish contender Padraig McCrory (20-2\, 10 KO). The next generation will also be showcased on this eight-fight card. In an all-Québec clash\, Lanaudière boxer Jacob Blais (0-1) will take on Capitale-Nationale native Yoan Trottier (0-2)\, while popular Trois-Rivières native Daylen Pepin (2-1) will also be in action against an opponent to be announced shortly.

SUMMARY:Orobio VS. Cedeno
DESCRIPTION:A FIRST MAIN EVENT FOR JHON OROBIO\, LENAR PEREZ IN ACTION AND STEVEN BUTLER VS. ERIK BAZINYAN ON NOVEMBER 12 IN MONTREAL! \nAfter 19 wins in as many fights and a meteoric rise through the world rankings\, Jhon Orobio is ready for the next step. On November 12\, at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal\, Eye of the Tiger will hand the reins of a main event to its 22-year-old Colombian prodigy for the very first time. \n“I made it a point of honour to give Jhon Orobio his first main event after his last fight. It’s one thing for us\, as promoters\, to say that our boxers are the best\, but in this case\, it’s practically unanimous. His two nominations for The Ring Magazine awards already prove it\, but I would add that after the fight against Moran\, a WBC executive told me that he already believed Jhon was capable of beating anyone in the division\,” said EOTTM President Camille Estephan. \nWidely regarded as one of the best young talents in the sport\, Jhon Orobio (19-0\, 17 KO) was nominated for The Ring Magazine Prospect of the Year award in 2024 and 2025. Already a two-time WBC and WBA continental champion at super-lightweight (140 lbs)\, he has won and defended his titles by demolishing Zsolt Osadan\, Ivan Basurto\, Xolisani Ndongeni\, Yomar Alamo\, Jonathan Montrel and Antonio Moran over the past 18 months alone. With 17 stoppage wins in 19 fights\, an impressive 89% rate\, Orobio has quickly carved out a place among the elite of his division. At just 22 years old\, the protégé of Marc Ramsay is already ranked No. 7 in the world by both the WBC and WBA\, while also holding the No. 12 spot in the IBF rankings. \nBut Orobio’s rise in Quebec has not taken place solely inside the ring. Arriving in Montréal in 2023 without speaking French\, the Colombian learned the language in just three years\, demonstrating his desire to fully integrate into his new home and the community that quickly embraced him. \n“It is a great honour for me. The trust my team has in me is worth its weight in gold in my eyes\, so I don’t intend to disappoint them\, nor the Montréal public that welcomed me so warmly when I arrived here in 2023. I will continue to train hard to put on a performance that will allow me to thank them on November 12\, and at the same time\, prove that I am the best\,” said the fighter known as “El Tigre.” \nThe co-main event will feature Lenar Perez (17-0\, 15 KO)\, who will make a quick return to the ring after scoring one of the biggest victories of his career on September 3. That night\, the WBA continental cruiserweight (200 lbs) champion stopped two-time world title challenger Thabiso Mchunu in the eighth round\, becoming the first boxer to accomplish the feat since Oleksandr Usyk in 2016. Now ranked No. 4 in the world by the WBA\, No. 9 by the IBF and No. 10 by the WBO\, the powerful Cuban now wants to capitalize on his momentum and continue his progression toward his first world championship fight. \nWhile Orobio and Perez look to solidify their places among the world elite\, two familiar faces to Quebec boxing fans will have something very different to prove on November 12 — both to EOTTM and to themselves. Steven Butler and Erik Bazinyan will square off in a pivotal bout that could very well determine the direction of their respective careers. \n“I recently stated that I wanted to see Steven Butler retire\, and I won’t hide from that. His health is\, and always will be\, my priority. That being said\, the final decision was Steven’s\, and out of respect and honour for everything we have accomplished together over 45 fights\, I told him that if he can prove to me that he still has what it takes for one last run\, I would be ready to do it alongside him\,” commented Camille Estephan\, who has worked with Butler since 2014. \nLast June\, two-time world title challenger Steven Butler (38-6-1\, 32 KO) delivered a valiant performance at the legendary Madison Square Garden\, where he notably sent hard-hitting New Yorker Edgar Berlanga to the canvas. But if the Montréal native wants to prove that he can keep the flame burning\, his opponent\, Laval’s Erik Bazinyan (32-1-1\, 23 KO)\, will have to show that he still possesses it as well. Out of the ring since his September 2024 fight against Jaime Munguia\, “Bzo” has since withdrawn from the aforementioned fight against “BangBang” on three occasions\, prompting EOTTM to suspend the Armenian-born boxer. Saying that he has overcome his demons\, and having displayed impeccable dedication in training over the past few months\, Bazinyan now says he is ready to return stronger than ever. \nThe opponents for the main event and co-main event will be announced in the coming days\, as will those for the undercard. The latter will include undefeated prospect Avery Martin Duval (16-0-1\, 8 KO)\, Canadian Olympic medallist Wyatt Sanford (8-0\, 4 KO)\, EOTTM’s newest signing\, Keven Beausejour (4-0\, 4 KO)\, as well as five-time Golden Gloves champion Nickenson Denis (2-0\, 2 KO).
