Ramirez was then scheduled to defend his title on February 5 against Richards before being hospitalized on an emergency basis just 24 hours before the fight.<\/p>\n<p>However, Ramirez\u2019s absence did nothing to diminish his reputation as one of the best light heavyweights in the world. Now back at 100%, he intends to make up for lost time by finally settling matters with Richards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing a champion isn\u2019t just about fighting, it\u2019s also about knowing how to handle the moments when you can\u2019t. Not being able to step into the ring in February was difficult, but it now allows me to come back even stronger. On June 4, there\u2019s no more waiting. I am the champion, and I\u2019m coming to show it to everyone\u2014Richards first,\u201d said interim world champion <strong>Albert Ramirez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the opposite corner, <strong>Lerrone Richards (19-1, 4 KOs)<\/strong> has remained patient over the past four months. The former IBO super middleweight world champion, who notably defeated former world champions such as Carlos G\u00f3ngora and Giovanni De Carolis, says he is more motivated than ever to pull off an upset, sharing the same ambitions as his opponent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am delighted to be back fighting at world level. The cancellation of the fight was unfortunate, but I\u2019m glad it has been rescheduled and looking forward to the encounter. The date has changed, but the goal stays the same. Albert Ramirez is a top opponent, and I know what I bring to the table. It\u2019s two of the best in the world at 175 lb facing each other. The goal is about becoming interim champion and putting myself in position to becoming a WBA world champion at 175 lb,\u201d said <strong>Lerrone Richards<\/strong>, the WBA\u2019s 9th-ranked contender<\/p>\n<p>Also in action on June 4, NABF light heavyweight champion and Tokyo Olympic medalist <strong>Imam Khataev (11-1, 10 KOs)<\/strong> will make his return to Montreal. Two-time Olympian <strong>Dzmitry Asanau (12-0, 6 KOs)<\/strong>, currently WBC Continental and IBF Intercontinental lightweight (135 lb) champion, will also put his top-3 world ranking on the line. The electrifying WBC Continental super lightweight (140 lb) champion <strong>Jhon Orobio (17-0, 15 KOs)<\/strong> will aim for a fourth title defense in under a year. In a fight initially scheduled for last March, Montreal\u2019s <strong>Christopher Guerrero (16-0, 9 KOs)<\/strong> will defend his WBC Continental welterweight (147 lb) title against hard-hitting Gatineau fighter <strong>Samuel Rodriguez (12-0, 11 KOs)<\/strong>.
