Women’s Boxing: Lots of Action in Claressa Shields’ Division!

Samuel Décarie-Drolet - Punching Grace

Professional women’s boxing is on fire, and Salita Promotions seems determined to pour even more fuel on the flames.

With the official signing of Danielle Perkins—former amateur gold medalist and a serious contender in the heavier divisions—and persistent rumors that Che Kennelly and Christina Hammer may soon join the roster, a major plan seems to be taking shape.

Is Dmitriy Salita building a pool of potential opponents for Claressa Shields? Or better yet, is he preparing a tournament between 168 and 175 pounds, bringing together some of the best female boxers on the planet, with the prize being a fight against the GWOAT herself?

One can already imagine a mouth-watering bracket: Perkins, Hammer (former world champion), Kennelly, Franchón Crews-Dezurn, and why not Hanna Gabriels—all gathered in a single elimination competition. It would be spectacular, strategic, and above all, historic.

An initiative like this could ignite massive media attention around the heavier women’s weight classes, which are still too often overlooked. And most importantly, it would create a clear and well-deserved path to a showdown with Claressa Shields, who currently reigns supreme with no immediate rival.

Women’s boxing has never been in a better place, and if Salita makes these moves a reality, a whole new chapter could be written. Proud of you, ladies. You’re redefining the game.
