The big moment is finally approaching for the WBC No. 1 contender Christian Mbilli (28-0, 23 KOs), who will fight Poland’s Maciej Sulecki (33-3, 13 KOs) for the WBC interim super-middleweight world title on June 27 at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City.
In the co-feature, Montreal’s Steven Butler (35-5-1, 29 KOs) will seek revenge against Jose de Jesus Macias (29-13-4, 15 KOs), four years after the Mexican’s devastating victory. On the undercard, Quebec’s Arslanbek ‘The Lion’ Makhmudov (19-2, 18 KOs) will face Ontario’s Ricardo ‘Big 12’ Brown (12-0, 11 KOs) in a duel of powerful heavyweights with a respective knockout ratio exceeding 90%.
Anchoring a 9-bout event, including four championships: Leïla Beaudoin (12-1, 1 KO) will defend her WBO international title against the WBC No. 2 contender, Elhem Mekhaled (17-3, 3 KOs). Christopher Guerrero (14-0, 8 KOs) will also make his first defense of the WBC Continental welterweight title against Sandy Messaoud (20-8, 1 KO). Then, Jhon Orobio (13-0, 11 KOs)will attempt to capture the WBC continental title, this time at super lightweight, against Slovakian veteran Zsolt Osadan (27-3-1, 17 KOs).
Quebec City prospect Wilkens Mathieu (13-0, 9 KOs), Montreal’s Luis Santana (13-0, 6 KOs) as well as Canadian Olympic medalist Wyatt Sanford (2-0, 2 KOs), will also be in action, starting at 6:00 p.m. on Punching Grace!
