Canadian power puncher Lucas “Prince” Bahdi, originally from Niagara Falls, Ontario, is about to experience a pivotal moment in his career.
On August 23rd in Orlando, Florida, he will face former WBA world champion Roger Gutierrez on a card presented by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and Jake Paul. This bout is an eliminator for the WBA lightweight title, currently held by American superstar Gervonta “Tank” Davis. A victory would make Bahdi the official contender for the world championship.
In recent months, Bahdi has proven he’s not afraid to take risks. His last three opponents — Ashton Sylve (11-0), Armando Casamonica (14-0), and Ryan James Racaza (15-0) — were all undefeated when they faced him. The result: three spectacular wins, including a thunderous KO over Sylve that went viral around the world in 2024. Currently, he’s ranked 5th by the WBA, 5th by the IBF, 15th by the WBC, 14th by the WBO, and holds the 10th spot in the prestigious Ring Magazine rankings.

Confident and determined, Bahdi recently extended his contract with MVP — a clear sign that he’s at the heart of Jake Paul’s promotional plans, with Paul firmly believing in his championship potential. Since joining MVP, the Niagara Falls boxer has delivered standout performances and solidified his reputation as a feared puncher in the lightweight division.
Behind this success is also a man: his trainer Stevie Bailey. The two form a tight-knit duo, built on trust and chemistry. Bailey leaves nothing to chance — every session, every technical adjustment, and every game plan is crafted to push Lucas toward excellence. Their relationship is one of the driving forces behind this meteoric rise.

As for me, I’ll be watching this fight with special attention — not just as an observer, but as Lucas’s cutman. When you’re working in the corner of a fighter like Bahdi, you know you’re in the front row for a moment that could change a career… and maybe write a new chapter in Canadian boxing history.
On August 23rd, Lucas Bahdi won’t just be stepping into the ring for a fight — he’ll be walking into a world opportunity. And I’ll be right there, just inches away, ready to watch over his face… while he goes after the belt.
