French super middleweight Moreno Fendero has been a professional for closing in on three-years.
During that time Fendero has moved quickly notching 14 wins and already has the WBC Continental Americas title.
“There’s a lot of progression, we’ve work on a lot of things with [trainer] Marc [Ramsay] that are paying out and will pay out in this fight,” Fendero said.
“I’ve worked on taking my time in each round instead of going and trying to be like an amateur, I’m becoming more a pro fighter and taking my time. I’m going round-by-round and winning round-by-round and not going too fast.”
The 27-year-old southpaw has heavy hands as 10 of his opponents will attest, leaving him with a very respectable 71 percent knockout ratio.

However, now he intends to let things flow rather than rush and smother his work.
“It’s not that I’m not looking for the KO, it’s better, more beautiful to put things you learn in the gym, in the fight,” he explained. “If the KO comes you always want a KO but if you can show 10 beautiful rounds of boxing, it’s even better.”
The next opponent in his crosshairs is Puerto Rico’s Jonathan Gonzalez (21-1-1, 17 KOs), who he faces on Thursday at Capitole de Quebec, Quebec City.

The veteran’s only loss came at the hands of Edgar Berlanga (TKO 1) last March. Fendero doesn’t feel pressure to score a similar knockout and is looking to impress in his own way.
“I want to be more mature in the ring and also show him I’m better than Berlanga,” he said. “I believe Berlanga knocked him out in the first round, I have to box every round until he’s not able to continue and quit.”
