Christopher Guerrero may still be early in his career, but he’s quickly making it clear to the boxing world that nothing about him is bigger than his self-confidence. He never hesitates to respond to other fighters calling him out on social media, and this time, he may have truly struck gold.
Machine Gun will face tiger Delante Johnson in his next bout. But for once, people aren’t referring to him as a tiger simply because he’s part of the EOTTM stable. His nickname is literally The Tiger.
This will therefore be the perfect opportunity for Christopher Guerrero to honor that nickname. He’ll have the task of proving to the boxing world that there is only one natural habitat for tigers: Quebec.

In Comparison
Guerrero’s opponent, Delante Johnson, is a 27-year-old American boxer. He has never lost in 17 fights, but he isn’t known for exceptional punching power. Only 8 of his wins have come by stoppage.
Tiger Johnson has faced two opponents who recently fought boxers from the Quebec-based stable: Jimerr Espinosa, who fought Arthur Biyarslanov, and Yomar Alamo, who fought Jhon Orobio.
Johnson defeated Espinosa by split decision and beat Alamo by unanimous decision. In both cases, the fights were not easy.
In comparison, Biyarslanov stopped Espinosa in the 7th round and Orobio stopped Alamo in the 5th round.
However, Johnson should not be taken lightly.

First of all, there’s no need to remind you that MMA math doesn’t work in boxing. What Johnson did against other fighters does not mean that’s what he’ll do against Chris. He could perform better, just as he could perform worse. We won’t know until fight night.
Secondly, Johnson had a highly accomplished amateur career, winning several championships at that level. He notably defeated Bruce Carrington in 2016, who is now the WBC featherweight champion.
Johnson is an excellent technical boxer, and this will by far be the biggest fight of Guerrero’s career so far.
But if you’re wondering whether our Quebec fighter has a real chance in this fight, the answer is yes, absolutely.

And with a victory?
You can imagine that a win against an opponent of this caliber would be massive for the Montreal native’s career.
In the WBC rankings, Chris is ranked 20th, which is four spots ahead of Delante Johnson. However, the American is ranked among the top 15 in both the IBF and WBO.
So the winner is guaranteed to move up in at least one organization’s rankings.
If Guerrero wins, he will likely break into the top 15 in all three organizations. Once that happens, the sky is the limit.
This is truly an opportunity for him to establish himself among the elite and prove to everyone that he’s not playing around. We all know Guerrero wants a fight against a big name.

And what works in his favor is that he not only has the talent, but also the personality to pull it off. Don’t be surprised if tensions run high at Guerrero’s next press conference.
And in a division where champions include names like Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney, playing the villain almost becomes a necessity. If he manages to attract attention while also returning to Quebec with a victory, his promoter will likely be a very happy man that day.
All that’s left now is to finish the job.
