It was my grandmother Rita who taught me the basics of astrology. I know you have to stay away from Cancers with too much character and avoid contact with Scorpios at all costs. On the other hand, you should seek the company of Aries, who make the best life partners.
She also reminded me that Aquarians are gifted with great intelligence, and I tend to agree. It’s thanks to this gift she passed on to me that I can, every year, predict what will happen in Quebec boxing. Noé Cloutier even wrote me the following sentence recently: “You are a true seer, you read the future.”
After many calculations and analyses of the stars, here is my top 10 of what will happen in 2026… but presented in 2025.
10– Simon Kean vs Arslanbek Makhmudov, summer 2026 in Shawinigan
Sébastien Gauthier on BPM Sports got it right: Simon Kean didn’t flip the bird and insult Shawinigan for nothing during his return fight against Florian Rimbault. He’s building hype for a potential fight against the Russian Lion at Centre Gervais Auto. Simon Kean is well known for being into American culture; we’ve seen him support Donald Trump, dine with Réjean Tremblay and Jeff Fillion, and watch WWE wrestling. He chose to take on the villain persona for his return, a “heel” as Pat Laprade would say.
As a bonus: I announce that Makhmudov will be selected to face Tyson Fury and will get played by the judges, losing a 116–112 decision to the Gypsy King.

The fight will take place on Saturday, June 27 at Centre Gervais Auto in Shawinigan.
9– Christian Mbilli will face Jaime Munguia for the WBC regular title
Mauricio and sanctioning fees
1 out of 11—that’s the number of fights ordered by the WBC that actually end up happening. My friend Mauricio throws plenty of them out there to collect sanctioning fees, but often the boxers, Turki, or Eddie have other plans. Here’s what will happen according to my amateur astronomer calculations and the position of the stars.
Christian Mbilli will face Jaime Munguia for the WBC regular title in February 2026.
Diego Pacheco and Hamzah Sheeraz will meet each other in April 2026, with the WBO title on the line.
All of this will lead us to a showdown between the two winners, Christian Mbilli and Hamzah Sheeraz, in August 2026.
Lester Martinez will play in the sequel to the Eleider Alvarez movie… meaning the role of being more than patient.

8– Jean Pascal will take his fourth retirement, but this time it will stick
Saturday, May 23, 2026, during Grand Prix weekend. Jean Pascal loves F1 festivities, Yan Pellerin is at the age where he goes clubbing at Electric Avenue to seduce mature women. Everything is in place for New Era Promotions to book the Bell Centre on Grand Prix weekend. This is the card I was able to glimpse in the lines of Yan Pellerin’s hand.
Jean Pascal vs Francis Lafrenière
Derek Pomerleau vs Patrice Volny
Yan Pellerin vs Nicholson Poulard
Brandon Poulard vs Sherzad Aziz
Jean Pascal will eventually win by decision against Francis Lafrenière and finally retire. We’ll see him around a Ferrari Challenger with David Loiseau… but it won’t materialize.
7– Wilkens Mathieu, the janitor of EOTTM
I wrote “janitor” to spark the imagination, but my star chart announces that Wilkens Mathieu will be particularly active and that all his opponents pay their taxes in the beautiful province. According to my calculations, he will face in 2026:
–Stéphane Fondjo
–Erik Bazinyan
All of it financed by Turki Alalshikh and broadcast worldwide. He will also triple the revenue of Boisjoly Transport, which he bought with his brothers in 2024.

6– Three Quebec women boxers will hold a world title in 2026
Caro Veyre will win on January 22 against Delfine Persoon for the WBC 126-pound championship.
Unified champion alert: Tamm Thibeault and her promoter Jake Paul will open the purse strings for two world championship fights—the first against Kaye Scott in April and full unification against Desley Robinson in November. A full 2026 that will prepare Tamm to win the Los Angeles Olympic Games.
Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse will also win a world championship; here, I can’t really predict where, when, or why. It will happen with a title vacated by Claressa Shields at 168 pounds or for the WBO title at 175 pounds.
Leïla Beaudoin saw her value explode by making the limit for 36 minutes against Alycia Baumgardner; on top of that, she has that superstar aura—her smile, her personality, even her swag. Believe me, MVP and Jake Paul understood that Leïla = star power. My reading of the lines of her hand clearly says she will fight in Miami next October against Mea Motu for the vacant IBF title at 130 pounds. And she will win.
5– Derek Pomerleau will become a superstar in Quebec
He will go on Tout le monde en parle, flirt with Lou-Adriane Cassidy, and open a Poulet Rouge in Mercier.
There are some boxers who, after a loss, double down and don’t get discouraged. Even though he was clearly beaten by Dylan Biggs, Derek is extremely well surrounded by Stéphan Larouche, Pierre Bouchard, and Danielle Bouchard. Armed with his brother watching over him, he will get back to winning. Gyms will fill up for his fights, and his secret weapon—seasoned publicist Claire Couturier—will once again create a Quebec showbiz star.

4– Omar Alieh and Yan Pellerin: a marriage is in the air
Omar Alieh (3–0, 3 KOs) is one of the finest talents ever produced by the FQBO; we can already announce that he is the next big thing in Quebec boxing. He will complete a trio with Wilkens Mathieu and Derek Pomerleau in the years to come. This is where things get interesting for my friend from Granby. We recently learned that prodigy Omar will give up his spot on the national team to focus on professional boxing. Gabriel Aly Ndiaye would reportedly take his place…
Yan Pellerin managed in 2025 to establish himself as the second most important promoter in Canada; he must now move to the next stage and sign top-tier talent. His cards will mix developing prospects and well-balanced fights between locals— isn’t that the perfect recipe?
I therefore predict that after reading me, Yan Pellerin will come to an agreement with Omar Alieh. This will be the first prediction in this text to come true—and not the last on this list.
3– Martine Vallières-Bisson will return to Longueuil in front of 1,000 people
MVB confirmed it to me at Maxime Seyer-Cloutier’s Christmas dinner: her pro career is not over.
So I allowed myself to dream on her behalf.
“We’re going to sell a shitload of tickets for your return.” —Laurent Poulin, enthusiastic.
My dream was precise, almost crystal clear. Martine Vallières-Bisson will be the co-main event of a fight between Mathieu Germain and Mazlum Akdeniz, presented at the Jean-Béliveau Coliseum in Longueuil. MVB would sell at least 1,000 tickets door to door before the show.

On Saturday, November 28, 2026, at the Jean-Béliveau Coliseum, Martine Vallières-Bisson will face Bree Howling (8–1, 2 KOs).
2– I got my hands on Steven Butler’s 2026 schedule
There are things that will never change with Bang Bang: he will never refuse a fight, and every time he laces up the gloves, he’s involved in a spectacular battle.
I managed to get my hands on his 2026 year; I predict he will win 3 fights and finish the year ranked.
–March 5, 2026: win against Ramadan Hiseni
–July 1, 2026: win against Shane Mosley Jr in Texas
–November 13, 2026: win against Alexandre Gaumont in Gatineau in front of 4,000 people at Centre Slush Puppie
Back in the rankings, peaceful life near his family, and one more Rolex in the bank. That’s Steven Butler’s 2026 report card.

1– Tamm Thibeault will finish 2026 with more belts than arms to hold them
It will be massacre after massacre for the one who will destroy the Quebec boxing record books.
In 2026, Tamm will defeat Kaye Scott and Desley Robinson back-to-back to claim all four belts at 160 pounds. At the same time, she will win the 2026 amateur world championships, receive the keys to the city of Shawinigan, and also walk on the waters of the Sea of Galilee.
Claressa Shields or her alter ego Ressa da Gwoat will do what rappers call a diss track. Claressa is rarely subtle, and she will constantly engage with boxing journalists who ask her whether she fears Tamm Thibeault.
Conclusion
These are my astrological predictions for the year 2026 in Quebec boxing, inspired by the stars and the legacy of my grandmother Rita. If these predictions come true, remember that it’s thanks to the Almanach Québécois. Happy 2026 to all boxing fans.
